SCHWALBE tire Shredda Gravity Pro | Radial ADDIX Ultra Soft TLR | Black
The Schwalbe Shredda sets completely new standards in terms of grip. The tire was specially developed for electrically assisted mountain bikes, which are preferably ridden on technically demanding trails. Visually, the Shredda is reminiscent of a motocross tire with its immense tread depth. While the center lugs stand like pyramids on the tire, the slanted shoulder lugs deform and close when riding. This provides more control and safety both when turning in and when cornering at speed. Especially on soft surfaces, the tread depth with the open tread design ensures excellent traction. The radial tire is therefore ideal for making optimum use of the drive power on soft ground despite the higher weight of an eMTB.
The carcass threads, which run diagonally across the tire at a 45° angle on normal bicycle tires, are arranged at a much more obtuse angle on the Shredda Gravity Pro. The technology, which was developed in the Downhill World Cup, turns the MTB world on its head. Primarily, the arrangement ensures that the carcass material overlaps shorter and with less tension. As a result, the tire deforms more selectively and can react much more flexibly and adaptably to bumps without sacrificing safety. With the same air pressure, radial tires offer 30 percent more contact area than conventional tires. The result is more grip, more damping and more comfort.
The tyre itself for the steepest uphill passages
- Radial carcass allows for a larger contact patch and significantly filters road irregularities: more grip, more comfort, and more safety
- Virtually sticks to the ground as the tyre deforms more precisely at specific points
- Profile optimised for radial carcass: Open tread design with high tread depth for excellent traction especially on soft surface
The tire itself for the steepest uphill sections
- Radial carcass allows for a larger contact patch: more grip, more comfort, and more safety
- Literally sucks onto the ground as the tyre deforms more precisely
- Slightly shallower tread depth than the Shredda Front, but offers more stability
- Profile optimised for radial carcass: Open tread design with shovel effect and high tread depth for excellent interlocking
- Especially on soft terrains, it generates a lot of braking and driving traction
The PRO tires from Schwalbe stand for exceptional performance and were explicitly designed for competition. Extremely fast and very light with good mileage make these tires the first choice for all ambitious athletes.
Addix Ultra Soft rubber compound
The compound with maximum damping is perfect for hardcore enduro, gravity and downhill use. Thanks to the improved compound, it can also be used optimally in cold conditions.
TLR - Tubeless Ready
A new monofilament side fabric offers three advantages over the previous standard: even better cut resistance, increased puncture resistance and, above all, makes tubeless conversion extremely easy. The use of sealing fluid is necessary, but the fitting itself is easy. Long conversion processes with intensive shaking and frequent re-inflation are a thing of the past with Schwalbe TLR tires.
Note: Tires with a soft rubber compound offer more grip and roll more smoothly. However, soft tires degrade more quickly and are more susceptible to wear.
